Single Review: Emily Mac – Whiskey Like Me

Emily Mac is a singer/songwriter from Toronto, whose music embodies the vibrant and rebellious rock ‘n’ roll spirit of rock divas, like Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks and Ann Wilson. Today, I will be reviewing her debut song ‘Whiskey Like Me’ which was co-written by Jay Stolar (noted for working with artists such as Selena Gomez andJohn Legend) and was released on the 14th October 2022.

‘Whiskey Like Me’ hammers forward a heavy fusion of percussion and strings, backed up by her powerful vocals, her voice is deep and rich and vibrant and you are just caught in the weighty melody of the track, and swept along throughout the performance. I like power tracks, ones that are almost cinematic in their evocative quality, and this song really ticks all the right boxes. I’m super glad that someone sent this track over for me to review, as I’m glad to be getting in on the ground floor, as Emily is sure to be catapulted into instant stardom, as she is a sensational performer, and the raw intensity and feel of this track is already so impressive that I cannot wait to see where she goes from here.

So that’s what I thought of Emily Mac’s single ‘Whiskey Like Me’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and show your support for the artist, and keep up to date with their latest goings on, by checking out their website and by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
