Moonlight Jones is a Miami based singer/songwriter and guitarist who performs his own unique genre of music called ‘Cosmic Soul’ which draws from multiple influences including Latin inspired rhythms, especially Flamenco music, as well as R&B and Rock. Today I will be reviewing his single ‘Whatcha Doin’ To Me’ which was released on October 6th 2022.
‘Whatcha Doin’ To Me’ opens with a big swinging beat, backed up by some phenomenal guitar playing, the track has a really nice energy, which is very indicative of Latin inspired music, which as I touched on above in the intro, is interwoven into a lot of the artists track. I hadn’t heard of Jones prior to setting out to review this track, but he’s got an amazing singing voice, resonant and melodious, with just the right balance of highs and lows. It’s a voice you could get lost listening to. I think what strikes me most in this track, other than the tremendous guitar infused rhythms, is the vibrant energy that’s present throughout, it really captures you and takes you for a ride. So perhaps too much information about my life, but it’s been a very long and draining day for me, and yet this track is energising without being relentless, balanced and with a solid beat and flow to it that really works. As I said a moment ago I was unfamiliar with Moonlight Jones before today, however, I will now be keeping an eye out for the artist in the future as this was a superb track and it really brightened up my day.
So that’s what I thought of Moonlight Jones’s single ‘Whatcha Doin’ To Me’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by checking out their website, and by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
