Single Review: Shadow Academy – Invisible

Shadow Academy are a two person, progressive rock outfit from California, made up of Dan Avidan and Jim Roach. This isn’t the first time I’ll be reviewing the group either, and you can check that out by clicking here. Today, however, I will be reviewing their single ‘Invisible’ which was released on March 25th 2022.

‘Invisible’ explodes forward a frenzy of high energy strings and percussion that’s anything but invisible, it slows down just a touch, the percussion taking a lead as Dan’s vocals kick in, and both work together. I really like the high energy nature of this track, you can feel the passion and delivery coming through. I knew I was going to like Shadow Academy because both members are immensely talented and because I have a large amount of goodwill for them both due to their other projects but honestly I’ve enjoyed each song thus far completely on its own merits and if Invisible is anything to go by they just keep getting better as they solidify their tone and style. This one in particular has some truly showstopping, kickass moments, making great use of the frenetic and talented instrumental skills of Roach, with Dan’s years of experience as a vocalist to produce a song that’s a genuine treat to hear.

So that’s what I thought of Shadow Academy’s single ‘Invisible’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the band by checking out their website and following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
