Single Review: Scott Patterson – Surrender

Scott Patterson or Scotty P is an actor, musician and businessman, he is probably best known for his role as Luke Danes on Gilmore Girls. He has recently started his own coffee company, and I’ve reviewed their breakfast blend, which you can check out here if you are interested. In 2021, Patterson in partnership with I Heart Radio began the ‘I am All In’ podcast which was dedicated to Gilmore Girls. I’ve talked about the podcast before, in fact it made my Top 10 Podcast list, which you can check out here. Today, however, I will be reviewing his single ‘Surrender’ which was released on 28th May 2021.

‘Surrender’ opens with soft, melodic piano chords that guide us in, and as Patterson’s vocals kick in I guarantee you will be hooked on this man’s music. His voice is strong, and deep, and yet he injects a remarkable amount of sincerity and vulnerability into his performance. I love tracks where you just kinda have to experience it, you still back and let it wash over you and Patterson has created an emotionally powerful song that is well worth listening to. I also want to add that while the piano throughout was lovely, the guitar sections were tremendous; they really added to the overall feel of the track.

So that’s what I thought of Scott Patterson’s single ‘Surrender’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it make sure to support the artist by visiting his website, checking out the ‘I Am All In’ podcast and by following him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
