Jonathan Young is a YouTuber, singer and music producer from San Diego, California, I’ve been a fan of his since I first discovered his music when he was featured on one of Caleb Hyles covers, I believe it was Monster by Skillet if my memory serves me right. Today, however, I will be reviewing Jonathan Young’s cover of ‘In the Dark of the Night’ from the Anastasia soundtrack.
‘In the Dark of the Night (Anastasia Cover)’ opens with the electronic driven melody, and Jonathan delivering the vocals in a deep, booming voice, adding depth and gravitas to the track. I always felt like this song needed to be more intense, I mean it’s the emotional focus of the movie, Rasputin’s revenge. And Jonathan Young delivers a phenomenal and fully realised cover of this track, with the appropriate energy and power to really make something that not only does justice to the original but is in many ways better.
So that’s what I thought of Jonathan Young’s cover of In the Dark of the Night (from Anastasia) and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to YouTube. While you’re at it, make sure to check out his website and Patreon and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
