Single Review: Caleb Hyles – It’s Tough to Be a God (The Road to El Dorado Cover)

Caleb Hyles is a YouTuber and musician, popular due to covering music across a variety of genres including Disney, Broadway, anime and classic rock. You can check out what I’ve thought of other examples of his music by clicking here. For this track, he was joined by Jonathan Young who I’ve also reviewed and you can check that out here. Today, however, I will be reviewing his cover of ‘It’s Tough to Be a God’ from the Road to El Dorado.

‘It’s Tough to Be a God (The Road to El Dorado Cover)’ has phenomenal energy, the harsher guitars, horns and other elements really add a lot to the track. I’ll admit I got a little bit obsessed with this track for a couple of weeks, and I think it’s just that it just hammers you with intensity. And yet it doesn’t lose the fun and whimsy of the original track.

So that’s what I thought of Caleb Hyles’s cover of ‘It’s Tough to Be a God (from The Road to El Dorado)’ and if you want to check that out you can head on over to YouTube. Please consider supporting Caleb on Patreon so he can continue to make content. You should also check out his website, and you can keep up to date with Caleb by following him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
