Logan Gilmartin is an indie singer/songwriter from Perth, for this track he is joined by guitarist Tom McGregor, and the track is being released under the banner of the Scottish music collective and label Mi Familia. It tells the story of a visit to the titular Spanish town, and it captures the energy and vibe of the place.
‘Magaluf’ opens with the sounds of the beach, the flowing sea and seagulls, which slowly merge and are replaced by a lively acoustic guitar and some light percussion. They work to support Gilmartins vocals, his voice is soft and melodic and blends well with the upbeat energy of the track. I really like the delivery of his lines, and how the performance matches the tempo of the track. I think I’ll probably have this song stuck in my head for a while, because the catchy melody really stays with you. I have heard anything from Logan previously, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for him for sure after this phenomenal submission.
So that’s what I thought of Logan Gilmartin’s single ‘Magaluf’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify.
