EP Review: Huttch – Quick Fix

Huttch - Quick Fix Artwork

Huttch are a rock ‘n’ roll trio from Windsor, Ontario and today I will be reviewing their EP ‘Quick Fix’ which was released on November 20th 2020.

‘Quick Fix’ opens fast, with a nice heavy fusion of guitar, bass and drums each evenly contributing to a nice even tempo and melody that’s catchy and memorable. The vocals equally are a nice harmony, the group work really well and know their strengths. I really enjoyed the extended instrumental sections midway towards the end, you could just get totally caught up in the powerful energy of the track.

‘How ‘Bout You’ is a little slower, with deeper more sustained notes from the get go, and then suddenly back in explodes out the gate, bass and drums creating a nice musical charge that’s backed up by guitars and the vocals just hammer forward incorporated into the melody perfectly. I think this is my favourite track on the EP because it just sticks in your head more.

‘One Step At A Time’ also starts off slower, more acoustic, ambient notes that flow across one another and you kinda just get lost in it a little. It also gives us a chance to hear a different style of vocals, less heavily charged and more melodic. I like this as a finale to the EP, it has a nice energy and is just all around high quality. I’m glad I got a chance to hear Huttch and I’ll be keeping an eye out for them in the future.

So that’s what I thought of Huttch and their EP ‘Quick Fix’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you are at it make sure and support the band by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
