Single Review: Arden Cho – Bubblegum

Arden Cho - Bubblegum Artwork

So if you’ve been keeping up with my posts over the past couple of days you’ll already be familiar with Arden Cho but just in case you need a refresher let me tell you more about them. Arden Cho is an actress, model and musician, born in Amarillo Texas to Korean-American parents. You may be familiar with her acting talents, having graced our screen in roles such as Kira Yukimura on the MTV supernatural teen drama Teen Wolf, Lexii C on Tween Fest, Arden Young on Miss 2059 and a recurring role as Emily Choi on Chicago Med. She however is not limited only to television, she has appeared in several movies including Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, Stuck and Agents of Secret Stuff. Her talents as I said above also extend beyond acting, she is also an amazing musician and you can check out more about what I have to say about that by clicking here, but today I will be reviewing ‘Bubblegum’ Arden Cho’s latest single which was released on May 19th 2021.

‘Bubblegum’ opens with a building note, almost like an inhale before merging into vocals backed up by some nice , percussive driven instrumentals. I liked this track a lot, Arden’s voice is just a treat, dreamy and deep, and perfectly balanced out against the harder edge of the backing track. I’m a big fan of tracks like this which have an almost dream-like quality to the melody, it’s hard to define but it builds a nice atmosphere and flows really well throughout. Having listened to various tracks from the artist over the past couple of days it’s been really nice to hear the diversity, range and evolution of her music. I strongly think this track and her music will not be ephemeral, the definition for which I learned from my good (fictional) friend Scott McCall.

So that’s what I thought of Arden Cho’s single ‘Bubblegum’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you are at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and by subscribing to their YouTube channel.
