Halston Dare is a singer/songwriter from Houston, Texas and I am super excited to review their single ‘Replace You’ which was released on March 24, 2020. I also want to apologise for the delay in reviewing this track, the artist actually sent in to us but it happened right around the time that I took a break from Off the Record and so it’s taken a bit longer than usual, but I’m sure you’ll find as I did that Halston Dare’s music is worth waiting for, anyway let’s get on with the review.
‘Replace You’ opens with jangling, striking chords that work perfectly with Halston’s voice, I also like the range of her vocals, she can hit powerful high notes, and deeper, harder notes with ease, and can go between both naturally. I loved the energy in this track, it was fast and just drove forward, but it wasn’t too busy, the only overwhelming aspect of it was the raw fire that is Halston’s voice. This was my first time reviewing the artist, but as you can probably tell from the review it won’t be the last.
So that’s what I thought of Halston Dare’s single ‘Replace You’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Don’t forget to support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
