Single Review: Ashley Lauren – Alive

Ashley Lauren - Alive Artwork

Ashley Lauren is back with her new single, ‘Alive’. It is a track which takes the New York singer to a whole new level with fans flocking far and wide to grab a listen.

Moreover, kicking off autumn in style, Ashley Lauren pushes ahead with a performance which has the X-Factor. For me, vocally, Ashley rises like no other in the current chart, and even the sternest of listeners will find it hard not to enjoy her delivery. Furthermore, she sings with a meaning which we can all relate to at the moment, especially given the uncertainty of the modern world.

Musically, ‘Alive’ comes with a bang and the music delves deep with a power which is inspiring. Also, cleverly Ashley fuses pop with a gospel foundation, and the result is refreshing. Additionally, the structure is unorthodox, given that it regularly picks up pace before taking us back down to earth.

The breadwinner in this piece is for sure Ashley’s lead vocal. She sings with charisma, and her confidence oozes from the moment she opens her vocal cords. Her tone is also delightful, and it arrives with a contagious timbre. However, I would enjoy hearing a little more backing harmonies in places to add even more flavour to the already potent mixture. Nevertheless, Ashley does ride the track well on her own, and although the backing does come in small doses, it still sounds noble!

Overall, ‘Alive’ is a track which makes me feel sharp. Moreover, I find myself filling up with joy every time I listen. Also, Ashley is still very early in her music career. Therefore, I am confident that she will grow even further to become a household name in the years to come.

You can check out a preview of the track over on YouTube and make sure to follow the artist on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and check out their website.
