Alessia Labate is a singer/songwriter from Milan, and today I will be reviewing their single ‘Something Special’ which was released on June 25th 2020.
‘Something Special’ fades in from nothing, getting louder, with the bright and honest vocals kicking off once the track begins in earnest. I like how well Alessia’s voice works with the guitar, both elements are strong on their own but they just complement one another perfectly. This is a song that you enjoy from the get go but repeated songs make it even better, the layers of it come out more clearly. I especially liked the shift in vocals towards the end, they were a little less polished, and just added a different element to the track as a whole.
