Single Review: Law Purda – Slouch Couch

Law Purda - Slouch Couch Artwork

Kieran Ward is a Glasgow based singer/songwriter, who named this new musical project ‘Law Purda’ in the form of an anagram as a tribute to his uncle Paul Ward who sadly passed away in November 2019. Today I will be reviewing his debut single ‘Slouch Couch’ which was released on May 23rd 2020.

‘Slouch Couch’ kicks off quickly, with building guitars, two distinct riffs, the first providing much of the drive, the second is a little heavier and adds just a wee bit more punch to it. The second riff fades off as the vocals kick in, but you don’t feel like you’re losing anything, because Kierans vocals are top notch, he has a softer voice, good for melodies and it works really well with this track. I like the sections particularly where he’s almost vocally battling with the guitar, it’s almost a back and forth. It’s really impressive. I can honestly say this is a great first track from the artist and I look forward to hearing more.

So that’s what I thought of Law Purda’s single ‘Slouch Couch’ and if you want to check that out then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the artist and their project by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
