Single Review: Fake Lips – Fame Whore

Fake Lips - Fame Whore Artwork

Fake Lips are a rock/punk duo from West Lothian made up of Gary Mclean Guitar/Vocals and Michael Cameron on Drums. Today, I will be reviewing their debut single ‘Fame Whore’ which was released on April 28th 2020.

‘Fame Whore’ kicks off with some mid-speed guitar and then just explodes forward, which instantly made me like it. It breaks down slightly as the vocals kick in, but the heavier more frenzied sections for the guitar and percussion work really well with the slower parts, and the vocals equally go between the two modes really well. It’s a strongly balanced track that has energy and a lot of passion and I would really like to see this track performed live, I feel like it would take an already superb track and make it amazing.

So that’s what I thought of Fake Lips single ‘Fame Whore’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the band by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
