Only August (also known as Andrew Reinhardt) is an Indie Folk artist from Toronto, the provincial capital of Ontario, in Canada. Today, I will be reviewing his single ‘The Rain’ which was released on the 12th March 2020.
‘The Rain’ opens with a soft, grilling acoustic theme, reminiscent of the rain, and then it explodes, powerful vocals lift the track, percussion and bass building, the whole track bristling with energy. Maybe this is just me but this song reminded me of Heaven by The Walkmen (which some of you might recognise as the final song from the hit CBS show How I Met Your Mother). There’s just a similar audible quality to it that endeared me to Only August’s track even more, not that it needed it to be honest, it was a tremendous track that blended a whole lot together to create something profound and hopeful and just amazing.
So that’s what I thought of Only August’s single ‘The Rain’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the band by following them on Facebook and Instagram.
