Single Review: Laufey – Someone New

Laufey - Someone New

Laufey is a singer/songwriter and cellist and this isn’t the first time I’ve reviewed their music, you can check that out here. Today however I will be reviewing their second single ‘Someone New’.

‘Someone New’ opens with an acoustic guitar, and you can hear the subtle hissing that reminds me of old movies, intentional or not. I really liked it. It adds a richness to the audio and is subtle enough not to be intrusive. Again I am blown away by Laufey’s voice, she is a truly amazing vocal talent. This track is a little busier than the last, more pronounced percussion, occasional notes from a piano and others all blending together in a fusion of wonderful notes that result in a really strong follow-up to a debut single.

So that’s what I thought of Laufey’s single ‘Street by Street’ and if you want to check that out then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook and Instagram.
