He stripped away
my dignity, layer by layer
until I did not recognize the person
I saw in the mirror.
I never forgot
about the things you
did to me in the dark
Who gave you the right
to touch me like an object on display?
Did your hands malfunction?
Did it lose control?
Did you enjoy those fifteen minutes
being alone?
My throat might be sore
from screaming your name,
but I don’t have time for playing
the waiting games
I will speak up
I will not cry
I will let it be known
I will testify
