Single Review: Arden Cho – I’m Just a Girl

Arden Cho - I’m Just a Girl Artwork

Arden Cho is an American actress, singer and model. I first became familiar with her from Teen Wolf where she played Kira Yukimura, a main character from season 3-5. I recently became aware of her music career and decided to review some of her music. Today I will be starting with her debut single ‘I’m Just a Girl’ which was released back in 2011.

‘I’m Just a Girl’ opens with light, jangling chords that set a nice atmosphere, before breaking into a gentle acoustic guitar that blends perfectly with Arden’s voice. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect but she’s a superb vocalist, she brings a great energy to the track and you feel the emotion shift and develop as the song continues, even without watching the music video, although I suggest you do you really get a feel for the narrative. My favourite part was the last little rendition of the chorus. It felt less polished than the rest of the song and just a little bit more honest because of it. All in all though it was a really strong first track.

So that’s what I thought of Arden Cho’s debut single ‘I’m Just a Girl’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. You can also follow Arden over on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
