Single Review: Running Red Lights – Safety Pin

Running Red Lights - Safety Pin

Running Red Lights are a four piece Indie/Pop/Folk group based in Toronto made up of Scarlett Flynn on Guitar/Vocals, Jeff Carter on Bass/Vocals, Dave Puzak on Guitar/Keys and Kevin Howley on Drums/Vocals. This isn’t the first time I’ve reviewed the band and if you want to check that out then click here. Today I will be reviewing their single ‘Safety Pin’ which was released on the 1st November 2019.

‘Safety Pin’ opens with soft acoustic guitar and the beautifully emotional vocals of Scarlett, counterpointed by the additional vocals of Howley, the pair bouncing off each other, and supporting each other expertly. I get a real country vibe from this track, something about it just has the air of those sad country and western tracks that play on the jukebox. This is a really powerful track, that still manages to remain simple and honest.

So that’s what I thought of Running Red Lights single ‘Safety Pin’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the band by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
