Single Review: The Churchhill Garden – Surrender

The Churchhill Garden - Surrender Artwork

The Churchhill Garden is a musical project by Andy Jossi, who is also the man behind The Blue Herons. I’ve reviewed both the Churchhill Garden and The Blue Herons before and you can check out both by clicking here, here, here, here and here. Today, however, I will be reviewing their track ‘Surrender’ which you can check out below.

‘Surrender’ has a slow paced, atmospheric intro, with a nice blend of percussion and strings, that carry you through the melodic dreamscape that is this track. The vocals compliment this initial feel as well, they are soft and easy, beautiful and transcendent, all giving this overall dreamy quality. I think it works really well for the track to the point where the full 7 minutes and 14 seconds of the track slip by in a beautiful haze as you are just swept away by the track, even the heavier section at the end serves as a kind of awakening, shaking you up a little right as the track comes to a conclusion.

So that’s what I thought of The Churchhill Garden’s single ‘Surrender’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Bandcamp. Make sure and support the project by following them on Facebook and Twitter or by visiting their website.
