Single Review: Swimming Pool – April/Quadrox

Swimming Pool - April/Quadrox Artwork

Swimming Pool are a shoegaze/dream noise band from Seville, Spain and today I’ll be reviewing their singles ‘April/Quadrox’ which was released March 2nd 2019.

‘April’ has quite a harsh intro, that flows through the thrashing guitar into, beautiful vocals, it’s quite an interesting effect, and it certainly grabbed me as a listener, I also like that it doesn’t fade out easily, the harder guitars undercut the softer, more vibrants parts throughout, but it just because part of the energy of the track. I also like that doing it in this way gives the track a higher and lower energy part to it, creating a contrast throughout.

‘Quadrox’ opens with bursts of guitar, backed up by a slow paced percussion, instantly setting it apart from the first track. The vocalists are truly impressive, their voices, the tone, everything about their performance is just so beautiful that you get swept away in a dream like trance.

So that’s what I thought of Swimming Pool’s singles ‘April’ and ‘Quadrox’ which you can check out on Bandcamp. And while you’re at it make sure and support the group by following them on Facebook and Instagram.
