Single Review: Wailing Recluse – Fallen Angel

Wailing Recluse - Fallen Angel Artwork

Wailing Recluse is a hard rock/Alternative Rock solo outfit based in Glasgow, led by singer-songwriter Richard Terris. Today I’ll be reviewing ‘Fallen Angel’, a single from their debut self titled album ‘Wailing Recluse’.

‘Fallen Angel’ has a really strong intro that got stuck in my head for weeks after first listening to it, it blends guitar, bass and percussion into one phenomenal intro, that in broads strokes, mostly due to the deliberate stops and starts reminds me a little of ‘Sweet Transvestite’. The comparison stops there though, as ‘Fallen Angel’ is it’s own distinct song though, and one that I just unabashedly loved. It just kind of sweeps you away, with this funky, rocky energy.

So that’s what I thought of Wailing Recluse and their single Fallen Angel and if you want to check that out then head on over to Soundcloud. Make sure to also support the band by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
