Single Review: Bryan Donoghue – Red Sky Fireflies

Bryan Donoghue - Red Sky Fireflies Artwork

Bryan Donoghue is a singer-songwriter originally from Edinburgh but is currently based in Northern Ireland and today I’ll be reviewing his latest release ‘Red Sky Fireflies’.

‘Red Sky Fireflies’ starts slowly, a subtle fade in, that starts to build with percussion and a warbling guitar, before settling and blending perfectly with Donoghue’s voice. I can never decide whether I like slower songs or faster ones, I’m sure everyone deep down has a preference, and when I listen to tracks like this that manage to balance pacing so well, It makes it ever harder to decide. I found myself just caught up in the melody of this one, I tend to listen to the track a few times before listening to it once more while actually writing the review, but I kept getting swept away in the smooth harmonious flow of this track.

So that’s what I thought of Bryan Donoghue’s single ‘Red Sky Fireflies’ and if you want to check it out then head on over to Bandcamp. While you’re at it support the artist by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
