Restaurant Review – Unity Grill

This review is from a meal I had at Unity Grill, Ayr on Thursday 14th August 2019. Enjoy!

Before we get started you can check out their Menu, for an idea of the prices and food on offer.

Main –
BLT with Sourdough Bread
Tom: The Bacon was superb and it really complimented the bread well, adding a little bit of the coleslaw from the side onto the sandwich took a really good bite to eat into a great one. The tomatoes were juicy and flavourful, but didn’t soak into the bread too much. Speaking of which, I love Sourdough Bread which is why I ordered it with that rather than the malted brown loaf, and the bread was great, tasty and nice thick slices as well. Over all the BLT was simultaneously moreish and filling, truly the perfect lunch time meal.

Drinks –
Karma Cola
Tom: I ordered this because I like trying new drinks, especially when I’m doing these reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. It tastes similar to Curiosity Cola, and is both sweet and refreshing without being overly cloying. It also comes in an adorable sized can with a fun design. Lastly by ordering it you are supporting a brand that is ethical, fairtrade and organic.

Latte
Tom:
I usually order my Latte flavoured, usually carmel or something similar but for this Latte I just went classic and it was a great choice. Smooth and creamy and appetising. This Latte, and I’m not exaggerating was probably one of the best I’ve had in a long time, and that’s taking into account that it’s not my usual order because as I said up top I usually order a latte flavoured.

Staff/service –
I was greeted quickly at the door and seated promptly. The staff were equally prompt and served me without any issue. I actually arrived fairly close to the kitchen shutting up shop for the day, and they were still nice enough to serve me food.

Bonuses –
I think the biggest bonus other than the high quality and tasty food was that Unity Grill is social enterprise that supports the community. If you’d like to learn more you can actually check out an Interview I had with the owner back when the business first opened.

You can find Unity Grill on FacebookTwitter and Instagram so make sure and give them a follow. This review was written by Tom Neil and Tori Anderson so click on one of those links to check out more from those authors.
