Single Review: The Reason – Never Let Me Down

The Reason - Never Let Me Down Artwork

The Reason are a four piece band from Airdrie, Glasgow made up of Martin Lynch on Vocals/Guitar, Bruce Murray on Bass/Vocals, Chris McCann on Guitar/Vocals and Matthew Preston on Drums. If you want to find out a little bit more about the band then check out this interview I did with them to go along with the review. Speaking of which, it’s time for my review of The Reason’s latest track ‘Never Let Me Down’.

‘Never Let Me Down’ has a bouncy guitar intro, that just grows as the track progresses, getting more powerful and complex, the vocals have a hauntingly maudlin quality, that works really well and the percussion back up the track perfectly, especially during the vocal heavy sections. I really liked the mid track break with the ticking clocks, it was certainly unique, and again after that the track exploded forward, in a ferocious display of technical proficiency and passion that truly impressed me.

So that’s what I thought of ‘Never Let Me Down’ by The Reason, and if you want to check that out for yourself then you’ll be able to do so on the 9th August 2019, so get excited folks. In the meantime support the band by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
