Kozen are a hard rock group from Toronto, Canada made up of Maxwell Kozen on Guitar/Vocals, Simone Harrison on Keyboard/Vocals, Jericho Leal on Guitar and Jared Leal on Drums. Today I’ll be reviewing Kozen’s single ‘To The Wild’.
‘To The Wind’ opens with a nice little riff, and reverbed vocals that merge into an excellent percussive build up. Honestly I was blown away by this track, it’s packed full of energy and noise, but it blends harmoniously to form something that is not only getting featured on this month’s OTR playlist for sure but will certainly take them places. Getting back to the song, it’s hard in all the right places, blends different vocal ideas (screamo, and more melodic tones) in such a good way that they seem like natural partners and even thought the track is busy as I mentioned up top, it’s not chaotic, everything rises and falls perfectly in a well balanced and powerful track. Watch out for Kozen because I see a bright future for them.
So that’s what I thought of Kozen’s single ‘To The Wind’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the band by also following them on Facebook and Twitter.
