Jake Roberts is a 17-year-old indie singer-songwriter from West Lothian, today I’ll be reviewing his new single ‘Mind Games’.
‘Mind Games’ starts off slow, an electronic chord, that builds and merges with the percussion, Jake Roberts comes in on vocals, providing an almost eerie presence, which makes sense considering the name of the track. While this isn’t the kind of song you’d listen to during a party or while doing the housework, it’s got something about it, a memorable quality, that combined with simple but effective instrumental backing really packs a wallop. I mean I went back in listened to it a good few times, it gets stuck in your head, winding and weaving its way through your head with its catchy musical undertone and practically subliminal vocals. This is my first time hearing Jake Roberts, and that’s my mistake, but if he can produce something as impressive as this then I’d say he’s worth checking out, don’t you?
So that’s what I thought of Jake Roberts single ‘Mind Games’ and if you want to check that out then pop on over to Spotify. And you can support the artist by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
