Single Review: Crow Moon – Wickerman

Crow Moon single 'Wickerman' Artwork

Crow Moon are a Glasgow based four piece Progressive rock band made up of Angus Allen, Ben Main, Charlie Grimble, Max Murphy. Today I’ll be reviewing their latest single ‘Wickerman’.

‘Wickerman’ opens fast, with a nice bass and percussive intro, that builds as the song progresses, it manages to maintain a nice pace to the track though, not just escalating but instead finding a nice balance where the song has energy but isn’t just a frenzy of noise. Having said that, there is a lot happening, it’s not just a simple instrumental backing, but a surprisingly complex piece, that peaks and drops perfectly, for example around the 2 minute and 10 second mark the song slows down a little and then builds again, really showcasing the talented of this band in different ways throughout this nearly 5 minute track. This was my first exposure to Crow Moon but after hearing what they are capable of with this polished gem of a track I’ll be keeping an eye out for them in the future and I strongly suggest you do the same.

So that’s what I thought of Crow Moon’s single ‘Wickerman’ and if you want to check that out then head on over to Spotify. And support the group by following them on Facebook and Instagram.
