So today I’ll Be reviewing ‘Personal Jesus’ a track by Djana Gabrielle, a talented Glasgow based musician, this track is part of an ongoing project where she releases a new piece of music each month, this track is for the month of May. Make sure and check out this interview I did with her and this review of her EP as well.

Personal Jesus (May) was inspired by an episode of Grey’s Anatomy and a challenge of faith a character had due to the loss of several patients. This is a strong topic, because life can be hard and we sometimes wonder if we are alone in the universe, but as Djana says in the song “prayed, prayed, prayed. I’ve prayed for better days. And now I sing, sing, sing my pain away. Although I know, I know, I know. There’s always a new tomorrow” and I really get that, life may be hard but faith can support you and after every bad day there’s always another tomorrow. I loved the energy of his track, the percussive backing really adds something to the track, and the actually melody is really easy to follow and yet gripping, you just kind of bob along with it and you come out the other end a little bit more hopeful.

So that’s what I thought of ‘Personal Jesus’ by Djana Gabrielle and if you want to hear those tracks for yourself then follow this link to her Bandcamp. And make sure and follow her on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with her.
