Single Review: Djana Gabrielle – Spring

Djana Gabrielle ‘Spring' Artwork

Djana Gabrielle is a Cameroonian folk singer who is based in Glasgow and today I’ll be reviewing her track ‘Spring’ which is the April submission of a year long music project. You can check that out below, also while you’re at it make sure and check out this interview I did with her a few months ago and also have a read at my review of her EP.

Spring (April) The month of spring usually indicates growth and rebirth and new life and energy and this song makes good on that, Djana says that’s it’s about clarity and finding light after the darkness, and whether literally or metaphorically I think we can all connect with that feeling. I certainly felt this song, with its gentle ups and downs and flowing vocals sections that really show what Djana is capable of doing.

So that’s what I thought of ‘Spring’ by Djana Gabrielle and if you want to hear those tracks for yourself then follow this link to her Bandcamp. And make sure and follow her on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with her.
