everywhere are a three piece band from Glasgow made up of Jimbo MacKellar on Guitar/Vocals, Royston O’Boogie on Bass/Backing Vocals and Dave Thomson on Drums/Percussion.
‘Last Reunion- Treacherous Thing’ has an easy going acoustic guitar to start, that provides the perfect accompaniment to the vocals, which are clear and well practiced. I really liked this track, it’s one of those songs that are simple and yet get stuck in your head for weeks. And I mean that it’s so bloody catchy, I listened to it about a dozen times before getting to this review and I think it’ll be lodged in my head till Christmas, and I don’t regret a thing.
‘Disappointed’ has more great vocals, I’m just sad it’s taken me this long to hear this band, because I like what they are putting out, clear cut lyrics, strong vocals and some great guitar sections. I use music to relax and to improve my mood, a byproduct of living my life like it’s a music video I suppose, so when I listen to tracks I’m always eager to hear one that I can just sit back and experience, its not one that’s all noise and energy, but instead a good sound and something that works regardless of what you are doing. Well ‘Disappointed’ is just such a track and I think it’s my favourite of the four demo tracks I have here today.
‘Fading Away’ is a little different from the previous tracks, a more distinct bassline and drum section for a start, but it’s also a little slower, and has a different pacing. Its nice. It’s also the only track so far that’s clear recorded live, its raw but I think that improves your enjoyment because you get a clear idea of what they sound like without any post production and they still manage to pull out a good track.
‘Success’ is another well paced track that you can sit back in a cozy wee armchair and just experience, its one of those tracks that heightens your mood the message behind it just kind of resonates with the listener.
