Single Review: Matt Scott – All Out of Sorts

Matt Scott 'All Out of Sorts' Artwork

Matt Scott is a singer-songwriter from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, he plays americana, folk and blues music and he’s incredibly talented, if you don’t believe me check out these reviews I’ve done of his previous EPs here and here and if that isn’t good enough you can also check out this Interview I did with him a while back as well.

‘All Out of Sorts’ has a nice even build that blends together a whole lot of things well, and acts as the perfect support for Matt Scott’s voice, and I’m sure I’ve said it before in another review but I always like it when you hear a Scottish singer and they sound Scottish, that’s a big plus before I’ve even heard the end of the track. This entire track just goes at a nice even pace, it might be because I’ve been doing back to back reviews and the bulk of them were fast paced but it was nice to hear something that wasn’t rushing to the finishing line so to speak, or dragging it out either, it just did what it did and it all felt natural and organic. I love when all the instruments build on each other, it never quite sounds overpowering or cluttered, instead it sounds like harmony, and that’s what I’m getting from this song, a strong melding and flow interwoven with Matt Scott’s voice that all add up for a great track.

So that’s what I thought of Matt Scott’s new single ‘All Out of Sorts’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then keep an eye on his page because it should be dropping on the 20th July 2018. Speaking of which to make sure you don’t miss it, best thing is to do is to like him on Facebook and Twitter.
