So first of how did you all meet?
We didn’t meet. We were forced together by music. A bond that cannot be broken.
Where are you from?
We are all from Dumfries.
How long have you been playing your respective instruments?
Not sure. Some have been playing for years. Some have been playing for weeks. If the boot fits you wear it and see what noise it makes.
What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
Dance. It’s music for dancing. Not that it can be helped. You feel the beat and you move your feet. Simple as.
What are your influences?
There are no influences. We play whatever the fuck we want. Whatever we feel.
Do you do covers and if so what’s your go to?
What if anything does your name mean/why are you called that?
FRANKY’S EVIL PARTY. It’s the baddest party in town. We have the Leader. We have the Army. We have the Party. And the party gets down.
Do you have a process for writing your songs/Which of you writes the songs?
This answer cannot be explained.
What are your rehearsals generally like?
A barrel of monkeys.
Do you have any interesting/funny stories about gigging or touring?
What song do you remember most from your childhood?
Junior Senior – ‘Move Your Feet’.
What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Dig your heels in. Grit your teeth. Nothing shall knock us down. We shall not crumble. No surrender.
How can fans-to-be gain access to your music?
We are everywhere. Look Left. Right. Up. Down. Forward and Behind. We will be there. Just come down and see us at one of our upcoming live shows.
Have you released anything yet/if you have how has it gone down and are you planning anything for the near future?
We have just released our debut single: Dolph Lundgren, which has kick-started the party. We have some in process. We have some in our heads. As for another record release, we plan to write an EP for the summer.
Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
FRANKY’S EVIL PARTY belongs underground, dancing along with the reprobates. The band is better suited to the underground scene and its venues.
What do you think about downloading music online?
Vinyl will always have its place in the music industry.
What’s your outlook on the record industry today?
Music of our generation has become too lemon-wash, like a pleasant train journey. What happened to music that is too loud.
And let’s end with something a little different… Which famous person, alive or dead, would you have dinner with and why?
I’d personally like to have dinner with the Pope or any other religious figurehead for that matter. To question why God lied to us and why he has the right to take advantage of all those vulnerable, gullible people. Preaching about kindness and “loving thy neighbour” in a religious context is a deluded mindset. I mean, yet we pass by the beggars and watch as war unfolds. There is no God.
On a lasting note, I will say this to anyone reading.
I hear you. We hear you. We will not stop. We have the Leader. We have the Army. We have the Party. We shall not crumble. Prepare for peace. Ready for war. No surrender. Welcome To The Party.
