Single Review: BEATASTIC – Blood and Moonlight

BEATASTIC are a Brighton based shoegaze/post punk/alternative rock outfit and today I’ll be reviewing the single ‘Blood and Moonlight’ from their double album 40 Moons Project.

‘Blood and Moonlight’ has a very surreal almost warped intro, which comes from the Sea Organ based in Zadar, Croatia. A curious tourist attraction you should look up yourselves. But is certainly lends a unique tone to the opening of the track, which when coupled with the videos if you watch the video can be quite chilling. About a minute or so into the song, there’s a change though as percussion is overlaid over the sea organ music, which slowly fades out as guitars join the drums. I will admit that once the track really gets going, by which I mean once they really start playing it doesn’t seem like the same video but it works, their style might not seem totally in-sync with the first section of the video but they work well together.

So that’s what I think about BEATASTIC single ‘Blood and Moonlight’ which you can check out here and if you want to get a copy for yourself as well as the rest of the tracks on the album then check out the bandcamp. Also follow the band on Facebook and Twitter if you want to keep up to date with all their goings on.
